Dr. Martin graduated from the University of Tennessee Veterinary School in 1995. She has practiced predominately in small animal medicine and surgery. Dr. Martin moved to Jackson in 2000 and she has practiced Relief Work in West Tennessee for 14 years.

Dr. Martin and her husband, Allen, have 2 dogs, a cat, 2 horses and white birds (white pigeons). The white birds are often released at weddings, funerals and celebrations. Dr. Martin and Allen enjoy horseback riding, skiing, hiking and just being outside with their furry friends.

 Veterinary Assistant

Hey y’all! My name is Kelsey Brown. I am in my last year at UT Martin for the Veterinary Health Technology Program. Woot, Woot! I have been happily married to Keith Brown since March 1, 2015 and all we have are fur babies. We have Patch, the always in trouble indoor rescue cat. Gigi is our shy boxer mix rescue along with Turbo our very hyper lab/shepard mix rescue. I have worked part time for the clinic for 3 years while completing my degree as Veterinary Technician.

Veterinary Assistant

My name is Jamie Danley Young. I am married to Scotty Young and we have one daughter named Emma Young. I have always had a passion for animals. My favorite interest is reptiles. We own snakes, lizards, geckos, dogs and cats. My 3 dogs are my Cane Corso Mastiff named Amore, my Basset Hound named Madison, and my mix breed named Patrick. My 4 indoor cats are named Gizmo, Darkness, Wiccan and Stormy. We have a house full but they all get along. We keep our reptiles in their aquariums and not running/slithering around the house like some may think. They have their own room in the back of the house. My daughter doesn’t have a choice but to be an animal lover. My job here at the Pet Wellness Clinic means the world to me. I actually enjoy my job and it gives me purpose. I’m grateful that I get to work with great people and help all of our patients. Thank for trusting us with your babies!

I’ve worked in the vet industry for about 4 years now and I love being able to come to work and help all the fur babies!

Veterinarian/Clinic Owner

Dr. Allison H. Climer earned her B.S. degree in Animal Science at U.T. Martin, her M.S. in Reproductive Physiology at UT Knoxville and her DVM at UT College of Veterinary Medicine.  She completed an externship in Embryo Transfer in cattle.  She grew up showing and raising registered Collies and West Highland White Terriers and riding horses, Western and English styles.  Allison met her husband, Rex, at Martin and has been married since 1984.  They raise Limousin beef cattle, ride horses and collect rescued pets.  They have 2 children, Trey married to Elizabeth and is a Mechanical Engineer in Jackson, TN and Crystal, a veterinary student at the University of MO.  They are a family of animal lovers!

Dr. Climer started practice in 1990 in veterinary medicine in both pets and livestock for 10 years then primarily in beef cattle for 6 years.  She was the first woman in TN to work in Adult Agriculture with the extension service in 1983 and the first female vet to be assigned stockyard duties in 1992.  In 2006 she became a charter member of the first animal emergency clinic in West TN outside of Memphis and served as their first Clinic Manager for a year.  She saw an interest in opening an animal clinic that would have extended hours and be convenient and affordable for clients and so opened Pet Wellness Clinc, Inc. in 2007. The clinic concentrates on preventative medicine and surgery and does a great deal of work for a number of animal rescue groups and the Disaster Animal Rescue Team.

Other than the cattle, horses (many of which are rescues) and many barn cats, the family has an Akita cross named Abby, a blue heeler named Trixie, a red heeler named Roxie, a miniature Australian Shepard named Steele and a three legged Chihuahua named Gidget. They all make sure that every day is exciting in their household!
